Toddler
18–36 months
Montessori is based on the idea that children are born wanting to learn. If we unlock that natural desire to learn, then what follows is academic success. The goals of a Montessori education, however, don’t stop at academic excellence.
Toddler Program
Our Toddler program is recognized and approved by the State of Indiana as a Toddler Ministry. Children in the toddler classroom gain independence through care of self exercises such as dressing, baking, and toilet-training. Continuous language lessons provide children with the proper terms for items within their environments.
Inside a Montessori Classroom
Movement
Children in the Toddler Program are working on both large and fine motor skills. Large motor skills are developed through activities like the climber, carrying of chairs and outdoor activities.
Social
In the Toddler Program we focus on the most basic of grace and courtesy skills. These skills are huge successes for a child this age. These include lessons on: waiting one’s turn, apologizing, introducing oneself and walking in the classroom.
